The Allegany Museum’s doors would close.

Sounds dramatic? Yes, it is. And, it is true!

The George Washington Whiskey Rebellion Fest, this year brought to you by the Community Trust Foundation, is the major money-raiser for the Museum.

The State and Federal governments are generous in funding our capital projects, like the new Crossroads of America exhibition which will open in the fall.

But our operations and programming are privately funded that is, the Museum must raise all the money to pay for electricity, elevator maintenance (no small thing!), cleaning, heating, programs, taxes, etc. etc. and so on.

Please support the Museum through becoming a sponsor of the George Washington Whiskey Rebellion Fest, this year scheduled for the evening of June 7. Contact Joe Caporale, (301) 759-1005, joe.caporale@alleganyradio.com

Or simply donate directly to the Museum.  Contact Daryl Smith, manager@alleganymuseum.org, (301) 707-4856 or visit www.alleganymuseum.org/Get Involved/

Your donation, sponsorship of the Whiskey Rebellion Fest, or endowment keeps Allegany Museum’s heart beating

There are many reasons to become an Allegany Museum Donor:

  • We are the premier collector, repository, and presenter of our region’s rich history.
  • We are the stewards of some 50,000 artifacts & documents, representing 12,000 years of local history.
  • We are a highly respected institution of life-long learning (from young children to retirees).
  • We are an economic driver, a destination for regional and national heritage tourists.
