Allegany Museum is the largest neo-Classical revival style building in Western Maryland, and is renowned for its gorgeous Grand Courtroom. The Court Room is used for weddings and other celebrations, and, of course, the Museum’s annual Whiskey Rebellion Fest.

The beautiful wood-paneled room will be dedicated as the Arthur & Bernice Friedland Grand Courtroom on Sunday, October 13, 2019.

The Friedland family have made a generous donation to the Museum to support all its work, including the maintenance and use of the court room. Mrs. Bernice Friedland, who was a volunteer at the Museum for many years, says that she always feels a sense of peace and quietude in the large and beautiful space.

Mrs. Friedland wants to commemorate her husband’s memory through this dedication. Mr. Arthur Friedland was a successful businessman and a man dedicated to the success of the local community.

The Allegany Museum and the Friedland family invite the public to the dedication at 3.00pm on Sunday, October 13, 2019. The 3:00 pm Dedication will be followed by light refreshments and tours until 4:30 pm.

Allegany Museum is at 3 Pershing Street, Cumberland, MD 21502. You can visit us at www.alleganmymuseum.org. The Museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays 10 -4, and Sundays 1-4. Entrance is free, and donations are heartily welcomed!
